Alright - so technically this is not new AT ALL.
But I just got so wrapped up in it once I heard it that I had to make it Song of the Week.
So by now, Halsey has become a household name for the most part. I’ve been jamming to her since preBadlands and she‘s always been one of my favorites. I saw her in concert about 3 years ago in Orlando right after the Pulse Nightclub shooting and she blew me away. Her voice + her activism makes her a no brainer. (If you haven’t heard her rhyming speech about consent, you should definitely look that up.)
Like I mentioned the song isn’t new. Ghost was one of her breakthrough songs in the very beginning and will always be a top five for me. So when shuffling through Pandora and saw this version, I left it on. It did not disappoint.
It’s sooo different from the original with the piano background and truly shows how great her voice is. It takes a catchy pop beat and turns it into a deep powerful, beautiful song. On top of that, there are two other redone versions on this 1 Mic - 1 Take album (songs also from Badlands) that I’d recommend.
Best Vibe to Enjoy it: post long day at work, candles lit, needing relaxation, holding glass of wine
